Frequently asked

How accurate is key detection?
Works well on most tonal music. Atonal tracks, songs with heavy key changes, or noisy recordings may give a lower confidence score.
What is a relative key?
Every major key shares its notes with a minor key. C Major and A Minor use the same notes — they are relative keys. Knowing both helps when writing or mixing.
What does the confidence score mean?
How clearly one key stands out compared to all others. High confidence means the key is obvious. Low confidence may mean the track is ambiguous, changes key, or has a lot of noise.
Can I use this before sampling?
Yes — that's one of the most common uses. Find the key of a sample so you can match it to your project or pick chords that work with it.
Is my file uploaded?
No. All processing runs in your browser. Your audio is never transmitted.
