How it works
Allow microphone access and play a single note on your instrument. The tuner detects the pitch, shows the nearest note, and tells you how many cents you are sharp or flat so you can tune precisely. Works for guitar, bass, violin, cello, ukulele, wind instruments and voice. Standard A = 440 Hz. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is recorded or uploaded.
Frequently asked
How do I use the tuner?
Click Start and allow microphone access, then play one note. The tuner shows the nearest note and whether you are sharp (+) or flat (−). Adjust until the needle centers.
What instruments does it work with?
Any instrument or voice that plays a clear single note — guitar, bass, violin, cello, ukulele, brass, woodwinds. It is chromatic, so it detects all 12 notes.
What are cents?
A cent is 1/100 of a semitone. 0 cents means perfectly in tune. Most ears notice tuning errors above about ±5 cents.
It is not detecting my note — why?
Play a single clear note, not a chord, and reduce background noise. Very low, very high, or quiet notes are harder to detect.
Is my microphone audio recorded?
No. Audio is analyzed live in your browser and never recorded or uploaded.
